Birthe Wilke

Danish 50's to 70's pop singer (b. March 19, 1936). Debut in the early 50's with [a2630639]. Henriksen soon after started the Danish branch of Phillips Records and made Wilke the label lead pop singer. In 1957 she and duet partner [a=Gustav Winckler] came in 3rd in the European Song Contest with "Skibet Skal Sejle i Nat". From the mid 60's into the 80's her career was kept at a lower pace.
