Tim Whitsett

[b]Tim Whitsett[/b] (born 1943) is an American music publisher, musician, songwriter, producer, author, and consultant. He was born, and resides in Jackson, Mississippi. With his band, [b]The Imperials[/b] (later renamed [a=The Imperial Show Band]), he recorded over twenty singles in a variety of genres (R&B, Pop, Instrumental) for a number of labels. After the group disbanded, in 1969, Tim went on to preside over [l=Stax]’s music publishing division, [l=East/Memphis Music Corp.] In 1976, he forged a partnership with [a=Chick Churchill], keyboardist with British rock group [a=Ten Years After], in a record production and music publishing company, [l848235]. He also began working with [l=Malaco Records] around this same time, in a number of capacities. In 2008, Whitsett's [i]Big Mistakes: The Memoirs of Tyrone Hatchback[/i], a novel, was published.
