Yusef Afloat

Yusef Afloat. Legendary Los Angeles MC/Producer/Musician- one half (along with Nouka Basstype aka [a=Sach]illPages) of the legendary West Coast Hip Hop duo [a=The Nonce]. He produced tracks for [a=Aceyalone], [a=Supherb], and [a=Figures of Speech]. Also appeared on the original 1994 release of [a=Project Blowed]. After the success of the Nonce on Rick Ruben's label American Recordings/Wild West, 3 re-issues of earlier work by [a=The Nonce], he released a handful of his own self produced 4 track recordings ("Hard Timez" EP, etc.). He also contributed verses on various affiliated camp's recordings, such as Global Phlowtations Artist Committee, Jizzm High Definition, and the tracks '8th Day (Good)" & "Look at me Mean" by [a=Sach]. On May 21, 2000, Yusef "Afloat" Muhammad was found dying on the side of Freeway 110 in Los Angeles, he was 28 years old. The cause of his death is still unknown.
