Rachid Taha

Algerian artist, founder of pioneer French Arabic rock band [a=Carte De Séjour]. His father is from Bejaia, in the Kabylie area of Algeria while his mother was from Mascara. Rachid grew up in the suburbs of Lyon, in France and invented a sort of Rock n' Raï music style. Born 18th of September 1958 in Saint-Denis-du-Sig (today Sig), near Oran, Algeria. Died 12th of September 2018 in Les Lilas (Seine-Saint-Denis) France.
