Ricky DeSire

Since the 1980s, Ricky de Sire (Eric de Boer) has regularly released singles and records in collaboration with various musicians. Yet, to date, he has not succeeded in reaching a large audience, despite unbridled dedication and commitment. In the documentary Overal Tegenin, Eric looks back on his career and looks to the future. We see how, despite all the setbacks and the lack of recognition, he still hopes for a breakthrough. In addition, we see a musician and artist who dedicates his existence to creating a unique and extremely personal oeuvre. By being close to Eric and by giving him the space to reflect freely, a haunting and moving portrait is created of one of the Netherlands' most passionate artists who has remained under the radar for a long time.
