Adam Czerwiński

Producer – Adam Czerwiński, born 2 July 1965. Polish jazz drummer, leader, sideman and co-creator and member of numerous bands operating on the Polish music scene over the last 30 years. Every day, Adam Czerwiński is involved in several of his own projects, with which he presents various shades of jazz. In addition, he is also a session musician, composer, arranger, producer and teacher lecturer. Adam Czerwiński began his musical career in the mid-1980s as a vibraphone player for Jerzy Partyka's Big Band Gdańsk. Luckily, he wanted us to know him today as an excellent drummer. He decided to devote himself fully to this instrument during the jazz workshops in Chodzież, where - due to the lack of a vibraphone - he went as a drummer. Since then, his playing has provided a stable rhythmic foundation to many known and respected musicians. Among them were such figures of the Polish jazz scene as Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski, Wojciech Karolak and Janusz Muniak. A separate chapter in Adam's activity is cooperation with American musicians such as Art Farmer, Garry Bartz, John Abercrombie, Larry Goldings, Bennie Maupin and Karen Edwards. In addition, the drummer also proved himself as a composer, arranger and the band leader. In the environment, known primarily as a long-term, trusted collaborator of Jarosław Śmietana, with whom he recorded over twenty albums and played hundreds of concerts as a permanent member of his band. After the premature death of the leader, Adam Czerwiński became the initiator, producer and co-creator of the double album "Friends - Music of Jarek Śmietana", on which a wonderful, musical tribute was paid to a lost friend by several dozen musicians from around the world, including Krzesimir Dębski, Piotr Baron, John Scofield, Jerry Goodman, Eddie Henderson and many others. This album, subjected to the mastering process at Abbey Road Studios, was also released on vinyl. The latest period of musical activity of Adam Czerwiński is, among others, cooperation with the outstanding violinist Nigel Kennedy both in the studio and in stylistically diverse concert programs, covering the repertoire from classical music to interpretations of works by Jimi Hendriks. A noteworthy moment in Adam's career was a performance at London's Royal Albert Hall alongside such celebrities as Jean-Luc Ponty and Robert Plant. Over the past three decades, Adam Czerwiński has performed together in several dozen countries, including such exotic corners of the world as Japan, South America, the Middle East and Australia. Distinguished in the field of music education as a lecturer in music workshops throughout Poland, for ten years Adam Czerwiński conducted his own classes in Gdańsk under Polish-German cultural cooperation under the aegis of the Reconciliation Foundation - documented by three albums, recorded by workshop participants. The drummer is also a laureate of distinctions granted by opinion-forming industry magazines Jazz Forum as well as Guitar and Bass. In addition to the obvious, direct contribution as a performer and composer, Adam Czerwiński contributed to the popularization of jazz music in Poland as a co-founder of the famous festival " Jazz in the Forest ", which since 1996 gathers every year excellent performers and dedicated listeners from Poland and abroad.
