Cornelius Cardew
Cornelius Cardew (7 May 1936–13 December 1981) was an English avant-garde composer, and founder (with [a=Howard Skempton] and [a=Michael Parsons]) of the Scratch Orchestra, an experimental performing ensemble. He later rejected the avant-garde in favour of a politically motivated 'people's liberation music'. His sons [a=Horace Cardew] and [a=Walter Cardew] are also musicians.
