Peter Westergaard

Peter Westergaard (born May 28, 1931, Champaign, Illinois, USA – died June 27, 2019) was an American composer and music theorist. He was Professor Emeritus of music at Princeton University. He was a student of Milton Babbitt. He composed numerous operas from Charivari (1953) to Alice and Wonderland (2006). He authored "An Introduction to Tonal Theory (W.W. Norton, 1975).
