Thara Memory (born 1948/1949, Eatonville, Florida, USA - diedJune 17, 2017, Portland, Oregon, USA, aged 68) was an American trumpeter and educator, and was part of the Portland jazz scene for over 40 years. He was the founder of the [a3948204] and was the mentor to [a=Esperanza Spalding]. He collaborated with a number of artists, including [a=Dizzy Gillespie], [a=Eddie Harris], [a=James Brown], [a=Four Tops] and [a=Stanley Turrentine].
