Betty Harris

American soul singer, mainly known for her [l=Jubilee] and [l=Sansu] recordings. Born 1939 in Orlando, Florida. Mentored by [a=Big Maybelle]. First solo recording was released in 1962, her major hit was a cover of Solomon Burke’s “Cry To Me” in 1963. She retired from music business in 1970 until her comeback in 2005.
