Los Guarros

Javier Calamaro, Andrés's brother, formed this band called Los Guarros in 1988, after dissolving El Corte and going through other projects like Frappé. Los Guarros took to the streets with "Prostitución y vagancia" (1989) and were recognized as the revelation band of the year. In 1990 "Rosas en tu pecho" came out, which led to more repercussions and changes in the line-up. The 1992 album of the same name included perhaps the most remembered song by Los Guarros: "Vamos a la ruta". That year they were invited to open for Joe Cocker at the Vélez stadium in Buenos Aires. They were also partners of Guns & Roses and Brian May in Argentina. The unnoticed "Veneno" of 1993 occurred in a year when they were the opening act for GNR again. A year later they released a great success titled “Acústico y Rock ‘N’ Roll”, and in 1996 “Pampas lisérgicas” was released, an album that would mark the end of the band. Javier Calamaro headed his solo career and Gitano Herrera moved to the United States, but at the end of 2016, Calamaro, Herrera, Castro, Mira and Alaguibe meet to give a concert at the Rosedal in Palermo, and they announce an album for 2017 that finally it was called "7".
