Joey Molland

British singer-songwriter, guitarist, & producer. Born June 21, 1947 in Liverpool, England, UK. He began his recording career in 1965 when he joined [a=The Masterminds]. In 1966, three members of The Masterminds, which included Joey, would be recruited to form a backing band for [a=The Merseys]. This backing band became [a=The Fruit Eating Bears (2)]. In the next couple of years, after The Merseys broke up, he played briefly with [a=The Cryin' Shames]. In 1967, he joined [a=Gary Walker & The Rain]. In November 1969, he auditioned for [a=The Iveys] and was hired at the time they changed their name to [a=Badfinger]. He left the band in late 1974. In 1975, he joined with [a=Jerry Shirley] and formed [a=Natural Gas]. The band disbanded late in 1977. He then pursued a solo career Married to [a=Kathie Molland] from 1972 until her death in 2009. They had two sons, [a=Joseph Charles Molland III] and Shaun Michael Molland.
