Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf

Austrian composer, violinist and sylvologist born November 2, 1739 in Vienna, Austria and died October 24, 1799 in Deštná, Czechia. He was a friend of both Haydn and Mozart. His best-known works include the German Singspiele Doktor und Apotheker and a number of programmatic symphonies based on Ovid's Metamorphoses.
