The Metros (3)
The Metros started in the spring of 1998. A little over a year later, they had an album released with Rip Off Records. The Metros were started by guitarists Mike Williamson and Chris Berlin. The two also shared the main songwriting duties. Stylistically, the Metros were similar to the Gun Club, first-wave British punkers the Clash, and their Detroit rock forefathers Iggy & the Stooges and the MC5. Marginally unpopular in their own rock scene for being underage, the Metros found mild success with fringe fans in such areas as Washington state and France. They broke up in the fall of 2000.
