Kevin Rundell

British classical double bassist and Professor of Double Bass. After a year touring with the [a=Scottish Baroque Ensemble], he joined the [a855061] at the age of 19. Kevin’s first Principal position was with the [a=Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra] in 1976. In 1980, he joined [a=The English National Opera Orchestra] as Principal, where he remained for ten years. Former Joint Principal Double Bass of the [a=London Symphony Orchestra] (1991-1992). Principal Double Bass of the [a=London Philharmonic Orchestra] since 1991. He was appointed Professor at [l305416] in 1975 at the age of 22 (one of the youngest appointments ever made), a position he still holds. Between 1975 and 1990 he was also a Professor of Double Bass at [l680970].
