Manoella Torres

American Singer and Actress with Puerto Rican ancestry. Born April 21, 1955 in NYC, USA, based in Mexico City, Mexico. Also Know as "The Woman Who Was Born To Sing". At an early age she emigrated to Mexico with her grandmother, at the age of 12 she released her first album under the stage name Gloria Gil, being sponsored by the group Los Panchos. In 1969 she released her second album, but fame came in 1972 when she released her third album under the stage name Manoella Torres. She continued releasing albums during the 70s, 80s and 90s, standing out as a ballad singer. She also worked as an actress in film and television. Known today as a reference in Mexican music, leaving a legacy in Mexican musical history.
