Danish singer and songwriter. Born Yasmin Jacobsen on June 6, 1969 as the daughter of a Turkish father and a Faroese mother. Yasmin comes from Denmark, but has also lived in the US. She released her first solo album "Slow" in 1991 on EMI, also released in US – the single "Wanna Dance" won a Danish Grammy award. In 1993 came the follow-up album "A Scent of Flowers". She has been a backing vocalist for an endless range of artists, including Laid Back, Lucas, YB, Blachman Thomas, S.O.A.P. and Zoom. She is currently half of the jazz/soul/electronic duo Aphrodesia, with her husband [a=Asger Steenholdt], formerly of Big Fat Snake.
