British jazz pianist. Born 23 July 1934, Whitechapel, London (East End), England, UK. Died 2 March 2004, Esher, Surrey, England, UK. Tony was entirely self taught. He played with: [a=Jack Parnell], [a=Phil Seamen], [a=Ronnie Verrell], [a=Martin Drew], and others. He had a long-lasting association of some 40 years with bassist [a603840]. He formed his first trio in 1961 and got his first break in 1965 at the Ship, a popular jazz pub in Bermondsey. There he met bass player Tony Archer who introduced him to the [i]Bull's Head[/i]. During the 1960s and '70s through to the 1990s Lee worked regularly at the [i]Bull's Head[/i] in Barnes, one of London's most celebrated jazz venues
