Fred Smith (7)

American bass guitarist (born 10 April 1948, New York City, New York, USA), best known for his work with [a254494]. He was the original bassist with [a16655] until he replaced [a=Richard Hell] when Hell left Television in 1975 to form [a=The Heartbreakers (2)]. Smith also participated in the solo albums of the Television guitarists [a258562] and [a314735], and played with such artists as [a363418], [a=Willie Nile], and the [a=Peregrins]. He also played bass, recorded, and toured with [a=The Fleshtones] from 1988 to 1989.
