Dan Hewson
Daniel Hewson is an English freelance composer, arranger, producer, pianist, trombonist, performer and music teacher. He is the son of [a93909]. Played in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and studied music at Oxford University. He has released albums under his own name, and as part of a jazz quartet and popular groups. Worked all over the world as performer and arranger with artists such as: [a289253], [a3385] and the [a848741]. Co-founder of the 90’s progressive house group the [a9651], Daniel produced and remixed tracks for Art of Noise and Virgin Records. Wrote and arranged for three Groove Armada albums, including their remix of the Madonna single “Music” and the track “Edge Hill”, which was featured on the “Tomb Raider” soundtrack (Paramount). As a pianist and trombonist, he has performed with Nigel Kennedy, Herb Geller, Incognito and Omar at the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House and Rock in Rio, and has recorded sessions at Abbey Road, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. Composed extensively for library music companies such as [l213218] and Audio Network. He has also composed for film and arranged strings and horns for diverse pop projects. Worked as a jazz piano teacher at Surrey University, City of London School, Christ’s Hospital and the Hot Club Jazz School (Lisbon), and as a ballet accompanist at the Portuguese National Conservatory of Dance.
