Serge Locat

Serge Locat is a Canadian keyboardist and pianist, most famous for spending three years as a member of [a=Harmonium]. Prior to joining Harmonium, he supported [a=Catherine Lara] during her Quebec tour in the early 1970's and also lead the progressive rock band Nécessité. He joined Harmonium in August of 1974 after band leader [a=Serge Fiori] heard him recording music for a commercial at a studio and was impressed. He performed on Harmonium's second and third albums, but complained that his writing contributions were often rejected. After Fiorir denied him permission to record and release a solo album, he announced his departure from Harmonium in August of 1977. However, Locat remained with the band until October of 1977 to fulfill the band's European tour supporting [a=Supertramp]. Locat then spent the next year writing and recording his debut full-length "Transfert" which was released in November of 1978. Brother of [a=Gilles Locat] and [a=Michel Locat], and father of [a=Maude Locat].
