Regent Club Orchestra

American studio orchestra that recorded for [l=Brunswick] between May 1925 and November 1931 with a focus on playing waltzes. The Regent Club Orchestra had various directors over the years. The first was probably Gus Haenschen, followed by [a=William Wirges] (October 1926 until 1929), [a=Louis Katzman] (1930), [a=Bob Haring] (1931), [a=Victor Young] (1931) and [a=Abe Lyman] (1931). Contrary to some published claims, it was not a Bob Haring group for most of its existence. In 1929 the name was also used on [l=Cameo (3)] and its subsidiary labels as a pseudonym for various orchestras, including those led by [a=Bob Haring] & [a=Irving Mills].
