Zach Zachery

Leon "Zach" Zachery, alto saxophonist & flautist, member of Philadelphia International Records' house band, [a=MFSB]. Born 1914; died 25 February 2009, aged 85. Uncle of [a=Crystal Waters]. Zachery was a part of the Gamble-Huff organization for over 30 years. In addition to performing, he was a composer, arranger and teacher, and played lead alto saxophone with jazz luminaries such as Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton and the Mercer Ellington Orchestra.
