Lorin Whitney

American Gospel organist. Born Sep. 11, 1914 in Madera, Madera County, California, USA. Died Aug. 29, 2007 (age of 92) in Newport Beach, Orange County, California, USA. Whitney has been called "the evangelist of the pipe organ." His musical ministry has been identified with evangelism, and he became widely known as the organist for the "Haven of Rest" radio program. He has played for other radio programs and has served as staff organist for a number of leading evangelists. Whitney was a theatre organist based in California, but he is more famous in the current theatre-organ world for being the owner of a Glendale, California radio station with a studio ([l412274]) that housed a large Robert Morton theatre organ, one that was recorded many times over the years by many top theatre-organ players,
