David Dickie
Musician, sound engineer and producer from UK. 1978 - Co-formed and fronted the band THE LAST CHANT. 1981 - Joined the band BLACK co-writing and playing Keyboards and Guitar. 1981-1986 – Sound engineer at Benson Street Studios in Liverpool. 1983 - Signed to Warners Brothers Records. Released 5 singles and 1 album and toured with ORANGE JUICE and THE THOMPSON TWINS. 1987-1989 - House engineer at Pink in Liverpool, produced and engineered BLACK’s 2 million selling album ‘WONDERFUL LIFE’ seven hit singles worldwide and the very successful follow-up 'COMEDY' for A&M Records. 1989 – Moved to London as a freelance producer/engineer. Made albums with: THE SENATORS THE REAL PEOPLE ANNABEL LAMB MELANIE GARSIDE JACK ROBERTS MARK NEVIN EDDI READER DAVE SUTHERLAND FIBREHEAD CHRIS CHAVEZ and singles and album tracks with BAT FOR LASHES, ALISON MOYET, SHACK, MICHELLE SANDERS, and many more. Maintained a writing career (published by Warners and Rondor – music for film, TV and advertisements. LIVE SOUND and TOUR MANAGEMENT 1997-2002 FOH Engineer at London’s KASHMIR KLUB and over five years worked with 3500 different acts including SHERYL CROW, DAVE STEWART, BELINDA CARLISLE, KT TUNSTALL, JANE SIBERRY, NERINA PALLOT, IMOGEN HEAP, MARCELLA DETROIT, ED HARCOURT, RON SEXSMITH, CHRIS DIFFORD, to name a few. UK, Europe, and South East Asia as FOH engineer for KIKI DEE, MINT ROYALE, ANNABEL LAMB, MELANIE GARSIDE, MOKE, MUST, GRANDADBOB and one off shows and festivals for many other acts. 2000-2005 – Part-time lecturer at Thames Valley University (London) teaching Music Business and Live Sound modules. 2005-2011 - FOH/TM for BAT FOR LASHES 4 tours of USA, 1 in Australia, 1 in South America, 5 in Europe and 6 in the UK - festivals, TV and radio shows and awards ceremonies. 2005-2011 - DEVENDRA BANHART, ROACHFORD, 2011-2016 - GRAFFITI 6 in the USA and Europe, GHOSTPOET, ROSIE LOWE, ALGIERS, SUMMER CAMP in the UK and Europe.
