Peter Leitch

Canadian jazz guitarist and composer, born 19 August 1944 in Ottawa, Canada, though long based in New York City. Peter Leitch recorded frequently as a leader for several labels, primarily Concord Jazz, Jazz House and Reservoir. In his guitar playing career he has worked / recorded with some of his profession's greatest performers like [a=Oscar Peterson], [a=Ron Carter], [a=Milt Jackson], [a=Woody Shaw], [a=Pepper Adams], [a=Jaki Byard], [a=Jack McDuff], [a=Kenny Wheeler], [a=Al Grey], and [a=John Hicks], among others. He is no longer playing due to side effects from radiation and chemotherapy, though he is leading a 12 piece orchestra playing his originals and arrangements, which premiered its debut performance on November 30, 2018 in New York City.
