DJ Flux

Evan Roth moved to San Francisco from Philadelphia in 1995 and helped to start the Drum n Bass scene there, with the formation of the BASS Kru. Conceived as a collective to throw parties, collaborate, and bolster the local scene, its formation led to a slew of legendary events and DJs that have shaped the San Francisco scene to this day. He also helped found Compound Records, the West coast's first all drum n bass record store, in 1998, which later established a location in Seattle. Both stores are now closed. In addition, he ran two labels (Compound Records and Obscene Records), owned a nationwide CD/tape distribution company (Red Tape Distribution), and maintained a busy DJ schedule.
