Mihai Trestian

Cimbalom player. Originally from Moldova, Mihai Trestian is the classical and folkloric music’s heir of Chisinau, Bucharest and Budapest conservatories. He started his career as a concert performer and traditional musician. He won the First Prize at the Stepan Neaga National competition as well as at the Barbu Lautare International competition. He is a member of the Tele Radio Chisinau Folclor orchestra. In Romania, he plays with the Baladele Deltei and Florocica la Munta band. After living and creating at the Royaumont Abbey, he took part in the Songs from the world tours initiated by Jean-Marc Padovani, in 2000-2001. He met with the band Translave in 2002, during the making of the album Marinarul. He joined the Jerez Le Cam Quartet in 2007, for the development of Nubes y tangos and took part in all the band’s work from then on. As for now, he works on his own quintet with personal arrangements.
