Sönke Schreiber

Sönke Schreiber was born 1980 in Hanover, Germany. At 16 he gained his first experience in youth and amateur orchestras. At this time he also traveled to Japan and Thailand. A first prize in the national competition "Young Musicians" was the final impetus for the decision to study drums. In the beginning of 2002 to 2009 Sönke studied at the Musikhochschule Hamburg under Professor Hans-Peter Michael. Further education he received from Professor Massimo Drechsler, Cornelia Monske and Nebojsa Zivkovic and Katarzyna Mycka. Sönke Schreiber was a soloist in 2003 with his Marimba by Ney Rosauro and 2004 for the Concerto for marimba, vibraphone and orchestra by Darius Milhaud. In 2005 followed the CD recording of the concerto Rosauro. In opera orchestras like the Philharmonic Orchestra Hamburg, he worked as a guest musician. With the pianist Elizaveta Ilina he founded in 2007 "magic key". This duo had been many appearances in northern Germany, especially promoted by the association "Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now" and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
