Åke Hermanson

Swedish composer, born 16 June 1923 in Mollösund, Bohuslän, died 8 August 1996 in Stockholm. Among other things, he wrote four symphonies in 1969–1984. He also composed poems by Ebba Lindqvist, Anna Greta Wide, Pär Lagerkvist and Karl Vennberg. Hermanson worked as a running boy, postman and pub pianist before his debut as a composer in 1951. In 2007, the collection box Alarme, with a large selection of Hermanson's works, was published.
