Mark Pollock

Texas blues and roots rock guitarist. Pollock died age 64 on November 11, 2015 in Alpine, Texas. He had previously lived in Dallas and Austin, Texas. As a guitarist, Pollock backed musicians including Freddie King, James Cotton, and Lowell Fulson, and formed the bands Kingsnake (later renamed Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets), Mark Pollock and the Midnighters, the Nightcrawlers, Teddy and The Tall Tops, Cold Blue Steel. and Blue Collar Crime. Pollock previously owned Charley’s Guitar Shop and the Dallas International Guitar Festival Dallas show and in 2002 opened TransPecos Guitar in Alpine, Texas. He was also the co-creator and longtime host of the “Far Out West Texas Blues Show” on Texas public radio station KRTS.
