BOB (37)

Indie Pop group formed in North London in 1986 by [a=Richard Blackborow], [a=Simon Armstrong] and [a=Jem Morris]. Initially, using a drum machine, the trio brought on Gary Connors on drum duties. Connors was replaced, after just one official release, by [a=Dean Leggett] (Formerly of [a=Jamie Wednesday]. [a=Stephen Hersom] (formerly of [a=The Caretaker Race]) was drafted in on bass when Jem Morris left the group in 1990. The following year BOB released their debut album 'Leave The Straight Life Behind'. They disbanded sometime between 1994-1995 after Rough Trade Distribution collapsed. However in 2009 BOB reformed after interest from the inclusion of 'Convenience' in a John Peel compilation set, leading to the group reforming for three mini-tours between 2015 and 2019, with Arthur Tapp assuming bass guitar duties as a way to promote re-releases of their back catalogue. 2020 saw the release of the album 'You Can Stop That For A Start', a collection of songs originally recorded in 1992 and lifted from the archives in 2019.
