シーモネーター

Alias used by the Japanese lyricist SEAMO from 1995 until Jaunary 2005. Well known for his comical persona, シーモネーター's performances and music heavily utilized innuendo and sexual humor, often performing while wearing only a tengu mask. In 1995, he (as MC N.T.) formed the group シーモネーター alongside DJ TAKI-SHIT and Tatsuya Yamada, later leader of the group MAS. The trio produced a single demo before Tatsuya dropped out, with the remaining duo rebranding as シーモネーター & DJ TAKI-SHIT. Around this time, シーモネーター was also active as a dancer for the groups BEEPER and ブラックインディアンズ. For the sake of futuring, the duo believed that making a release was the only way forward, leading to the production of シーアタッカ2000. The duo continued to perform at various nightclubs around Nagoya, producing a few indie releases along the way. The duo then made their major debut with Mastersix Foundation in 2002 with the single 浪漫ストリーム. While シーモネーター and DJ TAKI-SHIT independently worked in various collaborations at this time, the duo's final release was their album シモダス, with the duo disbanding in October 2003 on the basis of artistic differences. Over a year later, シーモネーター as a persona was ditched in January 2005 so he could instead make love songs and other such works going forward. In order to appease fans of his works as シーモネーター, SEAMO decided to resurrect the moniker of シーモネーター for various skits, songs, and live performances. Name source: 下ネタ (Shimoneta, "vulgar humor") + ターミネーター (The Terminator); adopted from シーモネーター (1995-1996 band)
