Kan Sano

Keyboardist, track-maker, and producer, Kan Sano began his collegiate musical education studies of Jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, USA, graduating in 2006. While being a leading figure in the beat-music scene, he enjoys the freedom of improvisations on the piano in his own unique style, which can be described as a fusion of jazz and classical music. In addition to his main instrument, the piano, Sano also adds the trumpet, bass, and drums to his musical arsenal during his live band performance sets, which bring the audience to a standing frenzy. His released songs "On My Way Home," "DT pt. 2," and "Sit At The Piano" have each been streamed more than 10 million times on various platforms. While establishing himself specifically as a Japanese musician, he became the first Japanese Artist to release a song on the prestigious UK label, Decca Records. Previously recognized as a member of the band HEX, Kan Sano is active in both domestic Japanese markets and internationally, with Alternative/Indie English musician Tom Misch publicly supporting his fellow artist as a fan, and appointing him as the opening act for his own concerts within Japan and Korea. Highlights include the year of 2016, with appearances at Japanese music festivals such as the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, and RISING ROCK FESTIVAL, and the Giles Peterson sponsored French festival, the World Wide Festival. In 2017, he embarked on a national tour of Japan, with a spotlight on his new album ā€œk is sā€.怀 Furthermore, his work and musical portfolio continues to expand as he also engages as a producer and remixer. Sano has participated in both live performances and recordings of many fellow J-pop artists, including Chara, UA, Tavito Nanao, Kaho Nakamura, Ayaka, and m-flo, and has also been in charge of countless commercial music and jingles, in addition to his accompaniment projects. Kan Sano's name is breaking new ground in various scenes.
