Pete Stanley (3)

[1937-02 January 2020] UK Banjo player Pete Stanley was first taught the banjo by Peggy Seeger. Later he developed 3 finger Bluegrass and Clawhammer styles. He is unusual as he played bluegrass style with his fingernails, not fingerpicks. In the 1960s he was in the Tennessee Three (with Dave and Robb Mangunan from California) and, for four years, in a duo with Wizz Jones. He performed, on and off, with Brian Golbey. He was also a banjo maker after attending a course at the London School of Furniture (now London Guildhall University). He played both open back and resonator Banjos.
