Billy Murray's Melody Men

Dance orchestra led by singer [a=Billy Murray], who also provided a number of vocals on its recordings. The orchestra seems to have been most active in 1920 when its recordings appeared on US labels, such as [l=Aeolian Vocalion], [l=Emerson Records (2)], [l=Concert Record (3)]; [l=Empire (23)], [l=Gennett] and on the Canadian [l=His Master's Voice] label. In 1929, Billy Murray seems to have reconstituted the group to make several recordings for the [l=Edison] label.
