Martina Portocarrero

Peruvian folklore Singer from Nazca, Ica. Leonila Martina Portocarrero Ramos was born on September 29 in Nazca. She studied at the National Conservatory of Music and the National School of Dramatic Art, as well as at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, but it was in Switzerland where she graduated as an educator. In 1970 he obtained a scholarship to study singing at the Conservatory of Lima and, at the same time, continues a training in music pedagogy. She was selected to join the Peruvian National Choir, with which she toured Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile. Then he sings with various groups of the new Latin American song and participates in various folk music festivals. In 1982 she began his solo career. It is successful, crowned by a great tour through the main cities of Peru. In 1984 she started his first tour of Europe, which began on the stage of the Royal Festival Hall in London, a show he shared with the famous group [a180914]. Since then she will be present at the main European festivals of Latin American music, along with great interpreters. In February 2007, she was the first Andean Peruvian singer invited to India to give two important concerts: at the Ramana Ashramam temple in Tiruvannamalai and at the “Sri Vast” Center for Philosophy and Culture of India in Auroville. In July, two concerts in Buenos Aires - Argentina. In October, he participated with his show "The songs of silence" at the "Festival des 20 Soleils", in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2016 and 2020 he ran for Congress for the party "Frente Amplio"
