Stig Holm

Swedish jazz pianist, born 29 January 1911 in Färentuna and died 05 September 1999. In 1933 he became a professional solo pianist. He played with, among others, [a=Charles Redland], the [a=Swing Swingers] and Albert Vernon before joining the [a=Håkan Von Eichwalds Orkester] from 1937 to 1951. In that time he performed with this band and as a solo pianist. He was leader of his own group, The Rhythm Masters. In 1943 he started playing double piano with [a=Arvid Sundin]. Like most of his generation, he was far from a pure jazz musician.
