Love?

When it comes to synthpop there are two options: love it or ignore it. You can try the latter with Love? but after listening to a few songs from "Electronically Yours" which was released in 2014 you will not get rid of the songs that guarantee to get stuck in your head. The synth pop duo which consists of Wonderboy and Miss Violett is a child of the 80´s and they love to toy around with analog instruments which create interesting sounds that revive that special musical feeling. Love? was founded in 1997 after the success of the song "In your hands" of the band EBM-Project "Overgament", of which Wonderboy, as OVM01, is still a member. After an appearance on Stefan Raab´s TV show which brought a lot of positive feedback they decided to continue in that direction. In the same year, the first EP "Soundz for Lovers" came out which was produced by "Carlos Peron" (Ex-Yello). One year later, their debut "Unique" came out, followed by live shows with "Beborn Beton" and "De/Vision". This debut was produced by "Heiko Maile", who is well-known for his work with "Camouflage" unitl today. In the following years, Love? rather toured than producing new records and they put all their energy into those live shows. This pattern changed when Olaf Wollschläger, who has worked with bands like "And One" or "Mesh", joined the band in 2008. Together with Olaf, works on a new record began. Twelve new songs were to find a cosy place on "Electronically Yours". The Record has found its way into many DJ´s music collections and in the DAC charts it climbed on as high as rank two. After the single "This City" and "I Walk Alone" which were also present in the DAC. The next release was the 3. EP "Like Back in the 80´s". The song reminds a bit to that time as Depeche Mode was singing "Move me disco - Baby don´t you let go", to protest against the Depression going on at the beginning 80´s. Love? can rarely been seen live. Keep your eyes open.
