Humbard Family

Alpha E. Humbard, his wife, Martha Bell and four of their five children (Ruth, Clement, Leona, and Rex) joined together to form the Humbard Family singers. During the late 1930's the group became radio regulars on KTHS (Hot Springs, Arkansas). The Humbard Family made their first commercial recordings for Okeh Records at Fort Worth, Teas beginning on April 16 and 17, 1940. Rex married a Dallas radio singer, Maude Aimee Jones on 2 August 1942 and her voice was added to the Humbard Family. Postwar recording appeared on [l206464] and [l259082] Records.
