Frank Kozik
American graphic artist, born January 9, 1962, in Toledo, Spain and died May 6, 2023. Kozik’s career began in Austin, Texas in the 1980s, designing posters and album covers for bands. He worked with artists including [a=Nirvana], [a=Pearl Jam], [a=Stone Temple Pilots], [a=Red Hot Chili Peppers], [a=Melvins], [a=The Offspring] and [a=Butthole Surfers]. He moved to San Francisco, California in 1993. Kozik ran [l=Man's Ruin Records], a media outlet and record label, and published several books including Man's Ruin: Posters and Art by Frank Kozik, and Desperate Measures Empty Pleasures. Prior to Man's Ruin, Kozik was one of the co-founders of [l=Rise Records (2)]. Kozik has been described as "one of the rock world's top poster artists", and interviewed in Rolling Stone.
