Rampage (2)

US-american rapper. He is the First Lieutenant of the Flipmode Squad and is Busta Rhymes' cousin. Also known as "Rampage the last Boyscout". Owner of Deep Freeze Ent. Rampage aka Roger McNair was born august 1st, 1974 at the Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, NY to Catherine Young and Roger Williams from New York Ave. Started to rap when he was 8 years old. Grew up with Busta in the early eighties in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Their ingenuity obviously paid off, with Busta garnering hip hop accolades with Leaders of the New School, then cementing his place as one of raps most intriguing characters, and Rampage set to launch his own hip hop assault. "But my real musical know-how first showed when Id listen to my Father and my Uncle play. They were both musicians," remembers Rampage. "So wed sneak against my Uncles door and listen to him play bass guitar. Thats what inspired me to get into this game. He had drum machines and all that, and thats what inspired me and Im sure it inspired Busta as well." The two cousins soon started making tapes together. Busta would play drums and Rampage would handle the guitar. Their early noizemaking, though slightly primitive, showed the first signs of the improvisation and wild playfulness that both rappers display on their albums. Later in his life while in High School at IS-246 Walt Whitman High, Rampage was blessed to walk the streets of the Great BK, and witness some of the lives of other artists he was and still is a fan of like The Big Daddy Kane with his White Volvo with the Gucci Rag Top. To Rampage and a whole nation of young fans and celebrities that was the hottest shit in the world As his family moved through out the city while going to and from his second High School the Old Boys & Girls High in Bed Stuy, on the 44 Bus he would pass by the neighborhood of Jay Z and the Late Great Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious B.I.G. What really made him want to do Hip-Hop was back in the days Busta had this box and he was playing a tape of Busy Bee battling Kool Moe Dee. They was sitting on his step at 32nd and Tilden, where he used to live in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He came out with an old cassette tape deck and they sat down and listened to this battle and he was on the steps writing rhymes in one of them old school notebooks. He was writing rhymes and reading his mathematics and he was always rhyming. He would always be there so Rampage just started to pick up on itIn 1992 Rampage landed his first recording deal with Dallas Austin ..dy/Arista Records and released Beware of the Ram Sack. Later in 1994 he recorded Flava In Ya Ear remix with Craig Mack, Notorious B.I.G., L.L. Cool J and Busta Rhymes. Rampage says he learned the professional side of the music industry - the benefits of putting together a more polished hip hop presentation - when Busta and cohorts launched The Leaders of the New School. "It was like a training ground for me," he says. "It showed me the ropes, and how you had to struggle. How you had to vibe and stay together and be true to yourself without losing your focus". In 1994 he was about an album called Tha Red Oktoba with the single "Beware of the Ramp Sack", but he went away from Rowdy Records, because of their lack of "know how" in hiphop. Later Rampage signed with Busta s own Flipmode production/management company, and that led to the release of his only album so far, Scouts Honor...By Way of Blood in 1997.Rampage has recently landed an independent label deal for his own company Deep Freeze Entertainment, distributed by Unique Marketing & Promotion. DeepFreeze will release albums from both Rampage and Rah Digga in 2007. His second album was realesed 6th June 2006, called "Have you seen?, produced by Felony Muzic, In Stores NOW!!!
