Carlos Marin

Spanish classical/opera baritone vocalist, and member of the opera-pop music quartet [a=Il Divo]. Born: 13 October 1968 in Rüsselsheim, Hesse, West Germany (now Germany). Died: 19 December 19 2021 in Manchester, England, UK (aged 53). Marín began his singing career very young, recording his first album (produced by Father Abraham) when he was eight years old. At the age of twelve he moved to Spain, where he won first prize in a number televised singing contests. Since then, he has had a varied and successful singing career. He performed in various musicals, such as Les Miserables, Beauty And The Beast, Grease, and The Man Of La Mancha. His film work included singing in Tim Burton's animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), and was also the singing voice of the prince in the Spanish version of Disney's Cinderella (2015). He also performed in several operas, including La Traviata, The Barber Of Seville, La Boheme, Lucia Di Lammermoor, and Madame Butterfly. In December 2003, he became more well known after joining the international quartet [a=Il Divo]. While remaining part of Il Divo, Marín started his own solo show, performing for the first time in Madrid (Spain), where he gave four solo concerts at the Compac Gran Via Theater in June 2011, then in Campeche (Mexico) in 2014, Ciudad del Carmen (Mexico) in 2015, and back in Madrid (Spain) in 2015, then Mexico DF – Teatro Metropolitan 2016, which kicked off his first world tour. In September 2016 he released his first solo DVD/CD worldwide, the result of the recording done during the show at the Compac Gran Via Theater in Madrid (Spain) in January 2016, where he performed every night for six nights.
