Rachid Safir

Classical tenor, born in Algeria. He studied with [a=Alfred Deller], co-founded [a=A Sei Voci] in 1977, an ensemble with which he sang for more than 10 years, he worked with the [a808105] and the [a848756], and founded [a1161309] in 1988. He was artistic director of the polyphonic art center of Paris Île-de-France from 1989 to 1997, and he taught at the National Conservatories of music in Lyon and Paris. Today he mainly works as a conductor of vocal ensembles.
