Jimmy Mesene

Jimmy Mesene (Messini), guitarist, vocalist and composer of the 1930s and early 1940s. British-born in Cardiff, Wales, on March 6th, 1908, he died in Montreal, Canada, on the 28th August 1969. His family was of Greek descent where he also learnt the shipping business at the age of 15 before he became a professional musician. He left the UK end of September 1947 arriving in Port Arthur, Texas on October 19th. Likely because of work permit problems, he moved on to Canada and settled in Quebec.
