The Swingers (3)

The Swingers are a swing and rock revival band from Croatia. Inspired by the American swing revival, the group Swingers was founded in 1999 in Zagreb. The first performance was held in Zagreb's "Factory" in November of the same year. Soon the group's repertoire became a mixture of music from the 40s, 50s and early 60s, from swing, R&B, rockabilly, rock, twist, but also calypso and mambo. They often collaborate with other musicians and singers including the biggest names in domestic music; Ivo Robić, Oliver, Massimo, Tedi Spalato, Sestre Husar, Nina Badrić, ENI, Marko Tolja, Ivana Kindl, Gabi Novak, Zdenka Kovačiček, Maja Posavec, Šajeta, Rivers..., but also to foreign performers, Montefiori Cocktail (Italy) and Freddie J. Cooper (USA). Over the years, Swingers have toured in as many countries (Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Austria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia), highlighted by engagements in the prestigious Bayerischer Hof in Munich, a performance with the Gipsy Kings group in Slovakia, and a presentation of Croatian Radio at the European Football Championship, 2008 in Geneva. Although the Swingers introduced themselves to the world as a cover band, performing mainly the originals of their idols, the group slowly but continuously records original songs, which they release in single format.
