Michel Henritzi
Michel Henritzi was born in Metz, France (1959), where he lives and works. He was involved in different industrial and rock bands in the late 70s, before collaborating with the collective Nox ([a=Nox (2)]). In 1984 he created a cassette label, [l=AKT Production]. He also collaborated with American writer [a=Kathy Acker] in 1986 on a lecture recording. He has written extensively for different independent fanzines (New Wave (FR), Hello Happy Taxpayer (FR), Peace Warriors (FR), Blow Up (IT), Improvised Music of Japan (JAP)), and continues to write for Revue & Corrigée, the dictionary of independant Japanese music, and the web-zine Opprobrium. He published several texts on Japanese Music in "Polyfree" (Outre Mesure Ed.), "l'Experience de l'Experimentation" (Les Presses du Réel). He was given a grant to write on Japanese music at Villa Kujoyama, Kyoto (2007). Since 1988 he has been working with the band Dustbreeders, complementing his written work with musical action. He has mounted numerous productions of different anti-records ; he has exhibited and presented performances in art centers and music festivals in France, Germany and Japan. Michel Henritzi runs the label [l=A Bruit Secret], Turtles' Dream and Dyin'Ghost Records. He booked numerous tours in Europe for Taku Sugimoto, Tetuzi Akiyama, Kan Mikami, Kazuki Tomokawa, Kim Doo Soo, Keiji Haino, Junko (Hijokaidan), Chie Mukai, Rinji Fukuoka, Up-Tight, Toshimaru Nakamura, Sachiko M, Taku Unami, Yuki Fuji, Shin'ichi Isohata ... He has a duo with Rinji Fukuoka (Majutsu No Niwa), Junko (Hijokaidan), has played with Ikuro Takahashi, Tetuzi Akiyama, Yuki Fuhi, Mochizuki Harutaka, Jojo Hiroshige, Ito Atsuhiro, Mattin, Bruno Fernandes, Nihilist Spasm Band, etc.
