Joe Tucci

Musician, songwriter, engineer, producer & record label owner, born in 1954 and also known as [a=Eric Matthew] Founded the Disco Funk group [a=Gary's Gang] with [a=Gary R. Turnier] in the late 70s. They enjoyed chart success from 1978 to the mid 80s. Around 1982 he formed and operated the independent New York-based Boogie/Garage label [l=Radar Records (2)], most notable for heavy club hitters like Toney Lee's "Reach up", Status IV's "You Ain't really Down", Key-Matic's "Breakin in Space", and many others. During [l=Radar Records (2)] short-lived years, Tucci released also tracks for labels such as [l=Profile Records], [l=Prelude Records] and for artists such as Jekyll & Hyde, The Disco Four, [a=Sharon Redd], [a=Barbara Fowler] among others. Matthew sold the [l=Radar Records (2)] catalog to Canada's [l=Unidisc] in the early 90's, and they retain ownership to the present day. In 2019, James Reeno (Spazzoid Records/NYC Records) did a 90 min interview with Tucci which covered everything from the early days with Gary's Gang, up until [l=Radar Records (2)], [l=Prelude Records] and beyond.
